Yes, screed is a highly versatile material that is suitable for use in all domestic, commercial and industrial settings. The screed mixture can also be adjusted accordingly to suit your different needs.

According to HDB’s renovation guidelines, the total thickness of screed and floor finishes must not exceed 50mm. Pre-packed waterproofing screed and membranes must also be used in bathroom, toilets, kitchen and open balconies before the laying of new floor finishes.

All homeowners must also apply for a permit from HDB and engage contractors listed on the Directory of Renovation Contractor (DRC).

The time needed for an entire cement screeding process will differ depending on the types and thickness of cement screed needed.

On average, creed should be left to dry for at least 3-4 days before being walked on. In some cases, it may take up to 28 days before furniture should be placed on the screed.

However, it is best to consult your contractor as the time taken for both the process and curing differs from project to project.

There is no need to maintain or care for screed. As long as it is laid correctly, the screed should not present you with any issues.
